Gpay or PhonePe not working? here is how to send money using WhatsApp

For all transactions, whether little or large, the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is increasingly used as the principal method of money transfer. Everything from paying energy bills to purchasing veggies from roadside vendors to reserving vacation tickets. UPI has utterly supplanted cash and credit cards. In addition to providing hassle-free money transfers, UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm are safe. They offer various additional capabilities, such as tracking monthly payments. But what if these traditional apps abandon you at the last minute because the server capacity is low? Or perhaps you cannot pay because you need to update your app but cannot do it via mobile data? Well, another software allows you to start UPI payments without having to download it. Because your phone already has the application in question loaded. We’re referring to WhatsApp Payments, a UPI transfer tool.

Recently introduced, the WhatsApp UPI payment feature enables users to transmit money simultaneously as sending a message. Therefore, you can pay cash to a mobile number or scan a QR code without downloading an app. Below are detailed instructions for configuring payments in WhatsApp’s chat interface window.

How to step-up WhatsApp Payments

Step 1: Open the WhatsApp app on your Android or iOS smartphone.

Step 2: Now open the chat of the person you want to transfer money to. You can also tap directly to Payments by tapping on the three dots in the top right corner.

Step 3: Now tap “Add your payment method” and click “Add bank account.”

Step 4: Select the Bank you have a savings account with.

Step 5: Next, you have to verify your phone number. Notably, you should have your registered mobile number on your phone. If you have the registered mobile number, the same as the WhatsApp number, then WhatsApp will automatically verify it.

Step 6: Now add your bank account details.

Step 7: Allow WhatsApp to send and receive money via a registered mobile number.

Step 7: Click on Continue. Now, your bank is connected to processing UPI payments via WhatsApp.

How to send money using its UPI Payments

Step 1: Open the chat of the contact you want to send money to or available Payments directly from the three-dot button in WhatsApp.

Step 2: Choose payment using a number or QR code.

Step 3: Now enter the amount you want to send.

Step 4: Enter your UPI pin set for the registered bank and click on Send payment.

Additionally, you may monitor the transactions in the conversation and verify the progress of your payments. WhatsApp also provides a huge selection of stickers and backgrounds to personalize and make prices enjoyable. Simply touch on the “Sticker” icon to apply these stickers and backdrops.
